Alfaris International Shipping is a shipping company from Saudi Arabia to Jordan that starts with one question: which city are you shipping from? Because your city decides the right border. Shipments from Riyadh, Qassim and the Eastern Province cross Al-Haditha into Al-Omari, shipments from Jeddah, Makkah and Madinah cross Halat Ammar into Al-Mudawwara, and containers go by sea to Aqaba. Shipments reach Amman within 2–5 days by road depending on the city. Prices start from SAR 36 for a small carton, SAR 990 for a bedroom set, SAR 3,190 for a full apartment and SAR 1,090 for a car on a shared carrier. Call 0565967337.
Your city → Al-Haditha (for Riyadh, Qassim and the east) or Halat Ammar (for Jeddah, Makkah and Madinah) → Al-Omari or Al-Mudawwara → Amman and every governorate · 2–5 days · 0565967337
Your quick guide to choosing the route to Jordan
- The golden rule: the border follows your pickup city in the Kingdom, not only your Jordanian destination.
- Al-Haditha → Al-Omari: for Riyadh, Qassim, Hail, Dammam and Al-Ahsa; Al-Omari is about 150 km from Amman.
- Halat Ammar → Al-Mudawwara: for Jeddah, Makkah, Madinah and Tabuk; Al-Mudawwara is about 320 km from Amman.
- Al-Durra → Aqaba: a coastal route for Aqaba-bound shipments, and sea freight from Jeddah to Aqaba for containers.
- Prices: small carton SAR 36, 20 kg carton SAR 82, room SAR 990, apartment SAR 3,190.
- Cars: from SAR 1,090 on a shared carrier and SAR 2,000 on a private hydraulic flatbed.
- Customs: Jordan is outside the GCC customs union; returning Jordanian expatriates have a conditional furniture exemption that excludes cars.

Why does the route to Jordan depend on your city?
Jordan borders the Kingdom to the north-west along a long frontier with three land crossings used for freight. Each is closer to a different part of the Kingdom and a different part of Jordan. So a shipment from Riyadh does not take the same road as one from Jeddah, even if both are going to Amman. Choosing the right border means hundreds of kilometres less driving, a day less in transit and a better price on a private truck.
At Alfaris we never leave that choice to chance. We set the route from the pickup city and also consider the Jordanian destination: someone living in Irbid, Mafraq or Zarqa benefits from the Al-Haditha road entering Jordan from the east, while for Ma’an, Karak or Aqaba the Al-Mudawwara road may be closer.
Route comparison: which border suits your city?

| Factor | Al-Haditha → Al-Omari | Halat Ammar → Al-Mudawwara | Al-Durra → Aqaba |
|---|---|---|---|
| Saudi border location | Northern Kingdom near Qurayyat | North-west near Tabuk | Gulf of Aqaba coast near Haql |
| Pickup cities served | Riyadh, Qassim, Hail, Dammam, Al-Ahsa | Jeddah, Makkah, Madinah, Tabuk | Aqaba-bound shipments |
| Entry into Jordan | From the east via Azraq | From the south via Ma’an | Directly into Aqaba |
| Border to Amman | about 150 km | about 320 km | about 330 km from Aqaba to Amman |
| Nearest Jordanian cities | Amman, Zarqa, Mafraq, Irbid | Ma’an, Karak, Tafilah, Amman | Aqaba and Wadi Rum |
| Pickup city | Usual border | Distance to Amman | Usual transit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Qassim and Hail | Al-Haditha | about 1,100 km | 2–3 days |
| Riyadh | Al-Haditha | about 1,400 km | 2–4 days |
| Madinah | Halat Ammar | about 1,000 km | 2–4 days |
| Jeddah and Makkah | Halat Ammar | about 1,420 km | 3–5 days |

| Al-Ahsa | Al-Haditha | about 1,750 km | 3–5 days |
ℹ️ Can a shipment use a different border?
Yes, in special cases — for example a Riyadh shipment going to Aqaba may be better on the southern road. We decide this at booking based on both cities and the shipment type, and state it in the price message.
The border and clearance: what happens at the frontier?
On the Saudi side
At Al-Haditha or Halat Ammar the clearance agent files the export declaration on Fasah under your authorisation, and the inspector matches the load with the contents list. A car exported permanently needs proof of deregistration and export plates.
On the Jordanian side
At Al-Omari or Al-Mudawwara the import declaration is lodged with Jordan Customs, the truck is inspected and any duties are assessed. Jordan is outside the GCC customs union, so goods are subject to the Jordanian tariff and the 16% general sales tax, while used furniture of a Jordanian expatriate returning for permanent residence has a conditional exemption.
| Stage | Where | What is required | Typical time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pickup and packing | Your city | Contents list and ID copy | Half a day to a day |
| Drive to the border | Inside the Kingdom | Nothing extra | One to two days depending on city |
| Export | Al-Haditha or Halat Ammar | Fasah declaration and agent authorisation | Hours |
| Import and inspection | Al-Omari or Al-Mudawwara | Jordanian declaration, recipient’s passport, exemption documents if any | Hours to a day |
| Delivery | Jordanian city | Recipient’s signature | Hours from the border |
⚠️ What delays shipments most at the Jordanian border
A contents list that does not match the load, new appliances in quantities beyond the exemption limits, or a missing proof of ended residence for those claiming the exemption. We review these points before loading, not at the border.

Road, sea or air to Jordan?

| Factor | Road | Sea (Jeddah to Aqaba) | Air (to Amman) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Transit | 2–5 days | 3–6 days port to port | 24–72 hours |
| From | SAR 36 per carton | SAR 4,370 per 20 ft container | SAR 55 per kg |
| Door to door | Yes | From the port or by extra arrangement | Yes |
| Best for | Furniture, cars and cartons | Containers and large household loads from Jeddah | Documents, medicines and urgent parcels |
Road is the first choice for most shipments because it is door to door and covers every Jordanian city. Sea from Jeddah port to Aqaba makes sense for large containers, especially for the south. Air to Queen Alia Airport is for small urgent items only.
Furniture shipping from Saudi Arabia to Jordan
Most people moving homes from the Kingdom to Jordan are expatriates returning after years, or families relocating for study and work. The long road, usually over a thousand kilometres, makes correct packing and loading essential.

- Survey: by photos or a free visit to set the volume and truck.
- Dismantling: beds, wardrobes, kitchens, lights and wall-mounted screens.
- Packing: blankets and tight wraps for wood and fabrics, bubble wrap and corners for glass, wooden crates for valuables.
- List: a detailed contents list by carton number, written to support an exemption claim if you qualify.
- Loading: heavy items low, glass upright, straps between rows.
- Crossing: through the right border for your city, with documents ready.
- Delivery and assembly: at your home in Jordan, with furniture arranged in place.
| Home size | Usual truck | From |
|---|---|---|
| A little furniture or one room | Shared freight | SAR 455–990 |
| Room and living area or studio | Shared freight | SAR 1,090 |
| Full apartment | Medium or shared truck | SAR 3,190 |
| Large house or villa | Private trailer | SAR 4,990 |
The Jordanian expatriate furniture exemption
A Jordanian citizen returning for permanent residence can benefit, under conditions, from a customs exemption on personal effects, furniture and household items within published quantity limits — for example no more than two of each type of electrical and household appliance — and the exemption does not cover cars. A passport, proof of ended residence in the Kingdom and an undertaking of no previous use are usually requested. For full details, see the customs exemption guide for Jordanian expatriates.
Car shipping from Saudi Arabia to Jordan
The car travels on a covered carrier with its wheels strapped, so it does not drive over a thousand kilometres and you do not queue at the borders yourself.

| Option | From | Transit | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shared carrier, sedan | SAR 1,090 | 2–5 days | Most cars |
| Shared carrier, SUV | SAR 1,950 | 2–5 days | Large cars |
| Private hydraulic flatbed | SAR 2,000 | 2–4 days | One car on a fixed date |
| Enclosed carrier | SAR 3,640 | 2–4 days | Luxury and classic cars |
| Motorcycle | SAR 990 | 2–5 days | Motorcycles secured on a pallet |
Final export or temporary entry?
Final export suits those who will register the car in Jordan: the Saudi plates are cancelled and export plates and a Traffic certificate issued, then in Jordan the car pays duties and a special tax that varies by engine type (petrol, hybrid or electric) and year. Temporary entry suits a long visit, with a transit carnet and valid insurance, without registering the car in Jordan.
⚠️ Jordan’s car import restrictions
Unrepairable cars and cars damaged by fire or flooding are not allowed, nor electric cars more than three years old. Check your car’s condition and year before cancelling its plates, and remember that the expatriate furniture exemption does not cover cars.
Cartons, parcels and personal effects

Goods need an invoice, packing list, commercial registration and certificate of origin, and in Jordan they are subject to the customs tariff and the 16% general sales tax by item.
Air freight from Saudi Arabia to Jordan
From Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam airports to Queen Alia International Airport in Amman, air freight starts from SAR 55 per chargeable kg and arrives in 24–72 hours.
