  • ✓The confirmed price for your request is the reference
  • ✓Accurate disclosure of the shipment’s contents
  • ✓Customs duties are assessed in the destination country
  • ✓Remarks are recorded at delivery
📑

Part one: request, price and preparation

What both parties commit to before the shipment moves.

  1. 01

    Definitions and scope

“Alfaris” is Alfaris International Shipping. The “customer” is the sender or whoever requests the service in their name. The “shipment” is everything the customer hands over for transport. These terms apply to road, sea and air freight, the shipping of furniture, cars, parcels and goods, and storage and clearance.

  2. 02

    Requesting and confirming the price

Prices published on the site are starting prices for guidance. The confirmed price is built on the customer’s details: the shipment type, weight and volume, the pickup and delivery cities and the services required. If the actual shipment differs from the details given, the price is recalculated.

  3. 03

    Customer details and disclosure

The customer undertakes to give accurate and complete details of the contents and their value, weight and dimensions, and of the sender and consignee and their addresses, and bears the consequences of any missing or incorrect statement.

  4. 04

    Prohibited and restricted items

Items prohibited by law in the Kingdom or in the destination country are not accepted, nor are hazardous materials among furniture and parcels. Restricted items ship with their permits. The full list is on the prohibited and restricted items page.

  5. 05

    Packing and preparation

Alfaris is responsible for the packing its crew carries out. The customer is responsible for the adequacy of anything they pack themselves, and Alfaris may ask for repacking of anything unfit for transport.

  6. 06

    Pickup and the handover report

The shipment is documented at pickup with a numbered list and photos, and the customer or their representative signs the handover report. That report is the reference at delivery and in any claim.

Part two: transport, delivery and liability

What governs the shipment from departure to receipt at destination.

  1. 07

    Estimated transit times

Transit times are estimates, affected by border and customs procedures, sailing and flight schedules, the weather and peak seasons. Delay arising from these causes is not a breach by Alfaris, and the customer is informed of it.

  2. 08

    Customs, duties and taxes

Customs duties and taxes in the destination country are set by its authorities and are not part of the freight charge unless the confirmed price says so. The customer undertakes to provide the required documents, including the broker’s authorisation through the Fasah platform.

  3. 09

    Payment

The freight charge is paid by the method and at the time set out in the confirmed price. Alfaris has the right to retain the shipment until what is due on it is paid.

  4. 10

    Cancellation and changes

The customer may cancel before pickup. After pickup, or once a truck or container is booked, the customer bears the actual costs incurred. Any change of address or contents after pickup may alter the price and the transit time.

  5. 11

    Insurance and limits of liability

Insurance on the shipment is optional and calculated as a percentage of the declared value. Alfaris’s liability for loss or damage is determined by the insurance policy where there is one, and otherwise by the transport regulations in force. Alfaris is not liable for an inherent defect in the goods, packing prepared by the customer, or force majeure.

  6. 12

    Delivery and claims

The consignee inspects the shipment at delivery, and any remark is written on the delivery report before signing, with photos. Signing without remark acknowledges receipt of the shipment in apparent good condition. If delivery fails for a reason attributable to the consignee, the shipment is stored at their expense.

  7. 13

    Use of the site

The site’s content is general guidance and not a contractual commitment. Copying content or images for commercial purposes without permission is not allowed. Customer data is handled under the privacy policy.

  8. 14

Governing law and changes to the terms

These terms are subject to the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, whose courts have jurisdiction over any dispute. Alfaris may amend these terms, and an amendment applies to new requests from the date it is published.

❓
Common questions

Questions about the terms and conditions

Are the prices published on the site binding?+

No. Published prices are starting prices for guidance; the binding price is the confirmed price Alfaris sends for your request once the shipment details are reviewed.

Is the transit time guaranteed?+

Transit times are estimates and are affected by border and customs procedures, sailing and flight schedules and the weather. Alfaris tells you of any change when it occurs.

Who pays customs duties in the destination country?+

The consignee or the sender, as agreed in the request. They are not part of the freight charge unless the confirmed price expressly says so.

What happens if an undeclared item is found in the shipment?+

Alfaris may hold or refuse the shipment, and the sender bears the resulting charges, fines and delay.

How do I record a remark on a shipment that arrived damaged?+

Write the remark on the delivery report before signing, with clear photos, then send it to Alfaris on 0565967337 to start the claim review.

Can I cancel after the price is confirmed?+

Yes, before pickup. Once the shipment is collected or a truck or container is booked, the customer bears the actual costs incurred up to the moment of cancellation.
